Delphi Oracle

The Oracle of Delphi (also known as The Pythia), was the priestess at the Temple of Apollo at Delphi, located on the slopes of Mount Parnassus (also Parnassos, a mountain in central Greece, about 180 km Northwest of Athens). These three greek sayings are engraved into the temple:

Know thyself.

Nothing in excess.

Make a pledge and mischief is nigh.

Irish Poems

Irish Toast

May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be ever at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rain fall softly on your fields,
And until we meet again, May God hold,
you in the hollow of his hand.

Irish Blessing

A sunbeam to warm you,
A moonbeam to charm you,
A sheltering angel, so nothing can harm you.

Irish Honor

Wherever you go and whatever you do,
may the luck of the Irish be there with you.

Irish Compliment

May you always walk in sunshine.
May you never want for more.
May Irish angels rest their wings right beside your door.

Irish Pledge

May you have the hindsight to know where you've been,
The foresight to know where you are going,
And the insight to know when you have gone too far.
